著者の紹介
今回ご紹介させていただくのは、アメリカの人気児童書シリーズBerenstain Bearsシリーズです。アメリカの作家Stan & Jan Berenstain夫妻によって1962年に始まったロングセラーで、現在でも世界中で読み継がれている人気シリーズです。現在は、StanとJanの息子のMikeが引き継いでシリーズの絵本が刊行されています。
Papa Bear、Mama Bear、Brother Bear、Sister Bearの４人が織りなす日常のお話が中心です。学校や友だち関係、スポーツ、宿題、家族のきまりごとなど、子どもたちが経験するような出来事を通して、自然に生活の知恵や大切な価値観を学べるのが特徴です。
